Microformats offer a way of presenting information such as contact details or dates in a way which can be read both by humans and machines.
What does this mean in practice? If you have a computer-based calendar application such as Microsoft Outlook, Google Calendar, Apple iCal, 30Boxes etc., you can import the dates of important Phoenix Book Award events directly into your calendar program without having to retype the details. If you store contacts on your computer, you can import contact details from the website directly into your address book application.
This website provides contact information (on the contact page) and event information (in the events section at the bottom of each page) in microformat form. To make best use of microformats, we recommend using the Firefox browser with the Tails Export and/or Operator add-ons.
You can use the links below to download a .VCF contact file (which can be imported into your computer's address book) or an .ICS calendar file (which can be imported into a calendar program such as Microsoft Outlook or Google Calendar).
- Download .VCF contact file (for Outlook, Address Book, etc)
- Download .ICS calendar file (for Outlook, Google Calendar, iCal, 30Boxes, etc)
